i think this is particularly special. and this.
seng leong's story of that last race will be a legend for many years to come. i'll certainly remember it since i was watching his race intensely most of the whole way through.
well. i've had this feeling.
in the end, sailing is not about whether or not you're racing relative unknowns or world champions.
it's not about whether you were a boatlength over the line or behind the line with a second left on the clock.
it's not about whether or not you face a lengthy protest in the evening even though there's no doubt you're in the right, or whether or not there is a chinese / myanmar / malaysian / whatever umpire in the hearing.
and it's definitely not about whether the race is nothing but a friendly rivalry or if there is a quarter million at stake.
no. sailing
is about knowing that the wind is going right in the next 2 minutes.
having the right timing and judgement in steering through chop.
and being able to link 5 waves in a row. repeatedly.
sailing is about the adrenaline rush when the 20 knot gust hits the mainsail.
